We can’t believe it’s been almost four months since we posted our last blog. We have been so fortunate to have experienced our first full “busy season” and are excited to start sharing some of the awesome memories and experiences we were are part of during this time. Our wedding and event season kicked off in full effect with the Elliotts’ stunning Franklin, Tennessee, Wedding on September 29, 2017.
First, we have to talk about Kim and Franke. A beautiful couple who planned and hosted such a gorgeous boutique wedding that fully reflected each of their personalities and their new journey in life together. Their wedding, at the McConnell House in Franklin, Tennessee, was an intimate and meaningful experience with close friends and family – all of the people special to both the Bride and the Groom. They hosted an even more intimate ceremony with immediate family present and a reception after. They created an atmosphere that encouraged mingling and for guests to enjoy everything the McConnell House offered as a venue. There was an acoustic bluegrass band, several food stations, passed hors d’oeuvres, two bars, signature cocktails, delicious cake (we may or may not have had some taste tests ourselves), and a sparkler exit. The entire day epitomized elegance and charm – and Kim and Franke as a couple.
When Kim and Franke hired City Social to provide final management and day-of coordination in January of this year, we started the planning process with face-to-face meetings with Kim’s Daughter, Madelyn, and Facetime dates with Kim (with so many of our clients living out of our home-base town we are very thankful for technology like Facetime). We chatted basics about the wedding day, discussed vendors they’d already booked, and created a very rough timeline. Throughout the months following, we had several of these types of phone calls to nail down details and make our timeline more concrete. Every week as we approached the wedding day we fine tuned details, contacted all of the vendors to make sure they had the timeline and what they needed, and we continued to feel the excitement for this wedding. One of the biggest parts of our planning was to take a trip to the venue a month prior to get a lay of the land and make sure we had the layout visually set in our minds. The photographer, Rachel Mathew, was our travel buddy so she could also scout and plan all of the perfect shots for the couple on the wedding day. The more prepared your vendors are – the better!
The day of the wedding, from a vendor perspective, was a dream. Everything fell into place according to plan and according to our detailed timeline, everyone was having a great time, and the Bride and Groom didn’t have to worry about a thing. This special boutique experience and day of shared joy is not something we will soon forget. This wedding was even more special to the City Social Team because it was the very first day-of coordination package booked after we launched the business last year. For Kim and Franke to place their trust in the services we offered to provide, and for them to allow us to be a part of such a special moment in their lives is something we are truly grateful for. We feel like we not only had clients but also made new friends along the way – such a perk of this job!
The vendor lineup for this wedding was amazing – if you’re looking for vendors in the Franklin and Nashville, Tennesee, area, look no further. We also got to work with some of our favorite Indiana vendors, too. 🙂
